Presented by the Embassy of France in Singapore and Art Outreach Singapore, Artletics marks the closing event of the vOilah! France Singapore Festival and showcases a fusion of arts and sports as we celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
 
Experience the transformation of Somerset skate park into an urban art canvas by talented Singaporean and French street artists ZERO, SPAZ, SimpleProblemBeings, Kekli and Elsa Martino, infusing the space with vibrant street culture. RSCLS will host an art jam, inviting members of the public to join in the creative process.

Marvel at the prowess of top international and local athletes across Breaking, Bike Trials, BMX, Parkour, Skateboarding and Yo-Yo.

Groove to the beats at an urban rave featuring DJs from Syndicate, enhancing the festival’s atmosphere with lively rhythms and ensuring an unforgettable evening.

Max Berguin

Champion of France Street Skateboard 2023

Explore the captivating world of Max Berguin, the 19-year-old French skateboarding prodigy from Bayonne in the south of France! He started skateboarding at the age of 7, and has continually impressed with his unwavering passion for the sport. With a remarkable victory at the French street skateboard championships in 2023, Max Berguin is emerging as a pre-eminent figure on the French skateboarding scene.

Max will be performing and hosting free skateboarding clinics.

Elsa Martino

Elsa Martino is a painter and muralist based in Paris. Using her signature soft yet vibrant colours, she enjoys expressing herself on all types of supports using a variety of techniques.

Kekli
@kekli

French artist Kekli began painting through hip- hop culture via graffiti in the 1990s. Over time, a character began to occupy an increasingly prominent place in his work, the "Boyo" – originally depicted as a yellow head with slanted eyes and a broad smile. Today, Kekli enjoys experimenting with styles and techniques by adorning the streets of our cities with his characters, all sporting wide smiles, paying homage to the heroes of his childhood and pop culture icons.

FEATURED SINGAPOREAN ARTISTS

ZERO is a visual artist with a ‘graffiti-esque’ aesthetic. He is the founder of RSCLS, an artist collective that seeks to evolve and develop urban art. He also received the National Arts Council Young Artist Award in 2013 and was a nominee for the President’s Young Talent in 2005.

Laurie Maravila (aka, SPAZ) is a Singapore-based cultural worker from Manila, Philippines. What started out as a graffiti practice evolved into examining the utility and necessity of art in the struggle for social change.

“Simpleproblembeings” is a visual artist based in Singapore, specialising in creating surreal characters with distorted body movements using spray-paint and acrylic brush techniques. Inspired by New York 90s graffiti, SPB’s style is characterised by bold colours, intricate line work, and exaggerated forms. This approach has evolved over time to become a distinct and recognisable style that combines elements of both graffiti and contemporary art.

As the community jam unfolds, the skate park’s walls become a vibrant canvas inviting everyone to paint and leave their mark. Guided by Singapore's urban art collective RSCLS, all are invited to join in the excitement and contribute to the festival's lively atmosphere. No experience is required - materials will be provided, so just let your creativity flow freely!
