Stimming, Dreaming is an intimate presentation about stimming and other coping mechanisms that people with different needs resort to, to assist them in stimuli that may be different or difficult to process. Stimming, usually used by those who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), involves repetitive or rigid actions that may appear strange and even frightening to the people who are not aware or informed of these behaviours. This exhibition is a personal look at the daily life of artist duo, Ila & Jannah whose close family members suffer from such illnesses. It aims to not only create awareness around stimming, but allow multiple perspectives of looking beyond these explicit behaviours.
