Shoutout to all artists/collectives in Singapore, Art Outreach is calling for creative proposals for an art installation to be featured in an upcoming edition of our Art Encounters programme.
Art Encounters is a mobile artist's studio and gallery housed in repurposed shipping containers that is designed to travel to unique sites around Singapore, featuring artists creating site-specific installations that reveal their artmaking process to the public.
It was launched during Singapore Art Week 2020 in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board, and has since travelled to Orchard Road featuring a series of concrete sculptures by French artist Lionel Sabatte; and to Kampong Glam featuring a UV paint installation by local artist Rizman Putra. For images of their installation, visit our archives here.
In 2021 and 2022, we're looking to feature 4 artists each year and a range of exciting site-specific installations to activate two 20ft shipping containers. Due to the compactness of space, Art Encounters presents a wonderful opportunity to experiment with new mediums or an extension of your practice.
Art Outreach will cover all material, production and installation costs, and an artist fee. The location and dates of the project will be worked out in discussion with you if you're shortlisted. To receive the open call brief via email, please submit your name and email in this link.
Closing deadline is 25 September 2020.
