Intern
3-month contract from Nov 2022 to Feb 2023, with stipend provided

Art Outreach is looking for energetic and independent interns to join our team between November 2022 to February 2023 to support the delivery of key programmes around Singapore Art Week 2023.


An internship with Art Outreach is a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience across various facets of arts management and programming, including producing and packaging content for marketing campaigns, as well as on-the-ground operations and installation. It is an ideal platform to understand what working in an arts organisation is like, and to explore your passion in the field. Many of our full-time staff used to be interns, while others who have interned with us previously remain in our community as volunteers and freelancers.


What you will be working on:

Marketing

  • Develop a robust marketing plan together with our Chief Creative to oversee the marketing, promotion and media outreach for all projects

  • Design and layout materials and draft copy in various formats for dissemination through social media, event website, EDMs, brochures

  • Track and study insights and analytics of marketing efforts and generate regular reports for reporting

Media Production

  • Research and prepare for photo/video shoots

  • Assist with pre to post production

  • Assist with media coverage of our events for archival and content production

  • Apply good understanding of digital and social media content to advise on deliverables

  • Plan and create content for our digital platforms

Project Management

  • Support administration and execution of Art Outreach key programmes including installation and setup

  • Assisting or co-facilitating artist-led workshops for our community programmes

What are we looking for?

  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, Final Cut Pro, CaptureOne

  • Beneficial to know how to manage and operate photography/videography and lighting equipment

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, which are essential for producing reports, schedules and presentations

  • Enjoys getting creative with digital content and being in the thick of action

  • Efficient and calm when working under pressure on a variety of tasks simultaneously, to tight deadlines

  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, working independently and with a team

  • Relentless optimism and ability to creatively solve problems will greatly help

  • Good written and verbal communications skills


Gallery Sitter
2 Dec 2022 to 22 Jan 2023, 11am - 7pm (Half and full-day shifts available at hourly rate)

We are looking for approachable and enthusiastic hosts who enjoy interacting with visitors and have an interest in art to be gallery sitters for our Singapore Art Week 2023 programmes. Priority will be given to hosts who are able to take on more shifts and familiarise themselves with the exhibition.

What you will be working on:

Visitor Management

  • Provide a friendly and welcome environment by receiving visitors and providing helpful information about the exhibition where needed, as well as assisting them with interactive components of the exhibition

  • Encourage visitors to take part in a survey

  • Ensure the safety of all artworks and/or installations in the exhibition by enforcing gallery rules in a firm but courteous manner

  • Assist in the sale of merchandise available for purchase at the exhibition (if any)

  • Represent the Organisation in a professional and responsible manner at all times

Admin

  • Track and record daily visitorship

  • Photo-taking of visitor engagement for Art Outreach records

  • Communicate any problems or concerns with the Organisation’s staff.

  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required

Housekeeping

  • Ensure that the exhibition space is kept clean at all times

  • Inform the Organisation when housekeeping items (i.e. wet wipes, spray disinfectants, towels, etc) need to be replenished

  • Opening and closing of the gallery
